THE BIOGAS STATION JOINTLY DONATED BY “ARMSWISSBANK” CJSC AND “ADACO” LLC HAS BEEN OPERATED
"ARMSWISSBANK" CJSC, within the framework of its policy of developing the renewable energy sector in Armenia, as well as promoting the "resource efficient" investments, has initiated projects for installation of two biogas stations in Shirak region. The first station, which was implemented jointly with “Adaco” LLC, was put into operation in Azatan village of Shirak region and was donated to the Gasparyan family. The donation was made within the framework of cooperation between the Bank and provincial administration of Shirak. Additional information about the second station will be provided.
The installed biogas station has a capacity of 5 m3, which can produce up to 1,200 m3 biogas per year. Besides, it provides 5 tons of ecologically pure natural fertilizer per year.
The biogas station operated in the Gasparyan family is still the first of the two selected households. The biogas station installation project is one of the best examples of multilateral corporate social responsibility, which can be a good precedent for businesses and households operating in the agricultural sector to make energy-saving investments in their field of activity. At the same time, target products on favorable conditions are now being developed to expand the successful cooperation of the Bank and “Adaco” LLC and to promote the organization of biogas production in the Republic of Armenia.
It is noteworthy that there is a huge untapped potential for biogas production in Armenia and especially in non-gasified communities, biogas production will provide gas and energy on affordable terms.
Biogas production is a source of alternative energy and it is not only ecologically clean, but also an optimal, profitable solution for any agricultural economy, enabling the economy to be independent of energy resources and to get real ecologically clean products due to high quality fertilizer.
