Deposit Guarantee Fund guarantees remuneration of bank deposits of physical persons, including sole entrepreneurs in accordance with the Armenian law. The deposit guarantee schem covers all commercial banks operating in the Republic of Armenia. In case the depositor is holding deposits in different banks, they are guaranteed separately at each bank.
The guarantee extends to both foreign currency and dram denominated deposits.
The guaranteed amounts for mixed currency deposit accounts are determined separately.
No additional activity or charges are required from the depositor for guaranteeing his/her deposits.
Resources of the Deposit Guarantee Fund are formed from regular quarterly contributions, as well as lump-sums, and extra contributions paid by banks, loans, grants, donations, gifts, management (investment activities) of the Fund’s financial resources.
